I don’t know about you…
But in the past, when I stepped into the paint section at the hardware store... instant migraine.
It would go like, I like this color, but this shade maybe to dark, but this shade may be to light, but but but!
Well, I went on the hunt to find some of the hottest trending color palettes and how they are being used. Hopefully this will make your next visit to the paint section a little less overwhelming :-)
White with Navy Accents
This is one of the most loved trends right now.
It uses a clean and crisp white as its base. Applied to the walls and the ceiling, it's a clean way to start everything out as far as a great fresh base.
The navy accents are added to the room to make it pop and bring depth to these two perfectly contrasting colors. The navy accents work great as curtains, pillows, throws, rugs, etc.
Be careful not to overdo it, but you can do a lot with this technique to draw the eye right where you want them.
Bright Magenta as an Accent
For the bold homeowner that is looking to really step outside the box in terms of home decor, you can use magenta as your accent and as your base.
Choose a shocking shade that is going to liven up the walls and freshen up the space in no time. It'll give you a clear and clean look and it is going to blend perfectly with the neutral accessories that you pair with it.
You can use this color on an accent wall, or you can choose to paint the whole room if you want to be truly adventurous.
Rustic and Natural
For something that is toned down, but still bound to help you create a theme, blend together natural tones like grey and brown, and then tune those up a little with rustic touches.
For this, you'll have to really work on balancing a gentle white on the walls, with wooden accents and a touch of rush themes, such as repurposed touches.
You'll want to make sure, too, that you do the same thing with the colors in the furniture. Keep them plain and toned down.
Let the wood and rustic appeal create the space you desire.
In and out of style over the past years, pastels are in for the moment.
You can spice up a room by combining these gentle colored accents with grey or off white in wall and furniture color.
Pastels help make a harsh room softer, but you don't want to go too far with it, allow the minimal pastels to speak for themselves in a way that is going to really capture the attention of those who are in your space.
White with Emerald Accents
If you are loving the trend of white walls, you create a unique twist on the other ideas and pair emerald green touches with it.
This creates a clean look, but deepens the accents with a rich shade of green that allows for those who want the bold and simple to blend together.
Great for those who enjoy the green color wheel, too.
Crisp Black and Grey
To help you create a fresh twist on neutrals, you can enjoy the idea of a soft grey on the walls, paired with a deep black in its accents.
This is great for the room that you are wanting to keep serious. You can do it with a small amount of black: black photo frames, for example, to easily create the space you are looking for.
Browns and beige are a common option when it comes to the idea of neutral, but when you do it correctly, you will find that it creates a warm spot for you to be able to enjoy yourself.
Perfect for a bathroom or bedroom, it promotes a soothing tone that you can spice up with brightly colored artwork in a contrast, or with gentle, matching artwork selection depending on how you want to create the space and build it up.
It's all about options and browns give you plenty of options to choose from.
Yellow and Grey
Popular in the color pallets this season is the grey base with yellow added in for flair.
The yellow should be a gentle warm tone so that it doesn't overwhelm the grey, and so that it promotes the right kind of environment for all those who are looking to make the most out of the combination.
It's one that you need to handle correctly and when you do, it'll create the attitude that you're looking for
Much like the blending of different shades of brown, you can do the same with blue.
Go with rich tones in the furniture, and lighter tones on the walls. It'll give you the right kind of overall look and feel to create a warm and rich space.
Be careful not to do it with too many of the dark tones, as it can really make the room itself dark, but do it right and you'll see the benefit in how all of the hues come together.
It's tricky to get all of the themes perfectly right, and with the color trends changing so often, it can be frustrating as well (If you are in to keeping up with the trends).
The important thing to make your home decor memorable, is that you go with the right scheme for you and what you want to do with your space. Don't pick something just because it's the trendy option.
A lot of these looks can be transformed as you need them to be. The point is, these are popular color pallet trends and you'll be able to really enjoy the hunt to find the right combination and blend for you to transform the space that you have in mind.
Who knows, it might even motivate you enough to choose one trend for every room of your home!
